UAE Plans OPEC Exit, Eyes Higher Oil Output
The UAE is set to leave OPEC after six decades, seeking greater autonomy regarding its oil production. In leaving OPEC, the country will be able to disregard the organization’s rigid quotas, allowing the UAE to produce and sell much more oil than before, which it has been working hard on lately. Though this move grants the UAE greater economic independence and brings it even closer to the US, it will mark a significant defeat for the organization. It may well bring about lower and less stable oil prices and the collapse of the entire oil cartel in the world.
